The concept

What do students need during their exams? They want to let off steam. So we created a place for them to do just that.

We took the abstract subject of 'de blok' (i.e. studying period right before the exams) and translated it, quite literally, into 'Den Blok'; a wooden log you can hammer a nail into. Fun assured, and an excellent way to relieve stress.

Offline and online

The campaign ran both on- and offline from 17 May until early July. During the first week, a promo team visited the largest student cities in Flandres and invited students to hammer a nail into 'Den Blok' to get back at the exams.

Online, we created a Facebook page. Here, students could play the online version as often as they wanted and invite friends. On a daily basis, we published fun photos, videos and tips to get through the exams.

We launched a number of Facebook ads to create an even greater buzz.

Good results

We are satisfied about the results for this campaign. Salto, who was our partner for the offline part, distributed 2600 flyers in total and almost reached the total amount of 1000 offline participants. We exceeded our target of 4000 total likes for the Facebook page (end result: 4323).

The Facebook ad campaign performed very well. On a total spend of less than € 700, we counted over 4,300,000 impressions and reached an average click-through rate of 0,063%.
