Raz*War wanted to augment their online presence, and make ordering razor blades online easier. We came up with an iPhone app, more gimmicky than e-Shop, that would put Raz*War right in their users’ pockets.
Raz*War sells razor blades on a subscription plan (called “shaving as a service”). They describe themselves as offering a ‘fair deal’ and ‘value for money’.
With a purely online sales model, references to models such as ‘El Che’ and ‘El Fidel’, and a style that roots in last century’s communistic images, Raz*War takes on the role of David versus the Goliaths in the shaving market.
Bloody razors!
On a very tight budget, we proposed an iPhone based product browser, paying close attention to the content (razor blades).
We improved the user experience by exploiting the medium’s possibilities. When you use the typical multi-touch navigation mechanism of swiping (for browsing left and right), you might cut yourself if you’re too reckless. So watch out! And go ahead and shake the phone for a foamy surprise.
iTunes app store
Ordering blades is done from within the app through an API to the Raz*War website, where the order details are processed. The Raz*War app is featured on the iTunes app store since 14th October 2010.
