MaTMa

Machine-To-Machine (MaTMa) communication is an important pillar in Mobistar’s day-to-day business. We designed the MaTMa-application to facilitate the administration of (often many) MaTMa-accounts and cards, and make them more user-friendly for Mobistar employees, resellers and customers.

Mission

Machine-To-Machine (MaTMa) communication is an important pillar in Mobistar’s day-to-day business. We designed the MaTMa-application to facilitate the administration of (often many) MaTMa-accounts and cards, and make them more user-friendly for Mobistar employees, resellers and customers.

Mobistar requested RealDolmen to implement this application. RealDolmen asked Nascom to a functional and graphical design.

It was a challenge to align the technical internal design with the daily reality for the end user. The user often has a completely different view on the case, but needs the same functionalities.

The graphical design needed to be easily adaptable to the graphical guidelines of certain (bigger) resellers, and other business units within Mobistar or France Telecom as a whole.

Build

In the first stages of the analysis, we quickly learned that the internal design showed some blind spots when it came to business processes and page flow. Nascom decided, together with RealDolmen, to identify these gaps during the functional analysis and to present these to the business owners.

Thanks to a quick series of iterations they could quickly assess the impact of certain decisions. During the functional analysis, Nascom helped identify these voids very fast, enabling the owners of the application to get a good idea of decisions that needed to be made.

At the same time, we started delivering graphical designs early in the analysis phase. These designs were according to the official Mobistar style guide, but there was always room for customization and skinning. Extra designs with their own colour palet illustrated this right from the start.

Results / Services

We delivered an impressive functional design in a very short time span. Based on this design, we could execute the technical development. Nascom also delivered a graphical design that accurately met the requirements set forth in the style guide. Nevertheless, it still was sufficiently unpredictable, in a playful yet businesslike manner, functional but pleasant.

In the meantime, Mobistart asked Nascom to build a first skin, based on the existing graphical design, to be used by Orange France.
