Mission

Roularta wanted to launch a renewed version of the existing DataNews website –in function of their ambitious business objectives. The deadline was set in April 2010, before the launch of the DataNews Awards.

Nascom supported Roularta in the formulation of the set business objectives and the functional and technical solutions necessary to meet those objectives.

In this project, Nascom was responsible for the business, functional and technical analysis in the redesign process of the DataNews website. Morover, Nascom had the freedom to think of a new look & feel for the site.

Build

Analysis

Nascom made a number of analyses to draw out the different aspects of the website’s functional redesign –business analysis, information analysis, funcional & technical analysis and operational analysis.

Art Direction

Nascom developped a new look & feel for the website. We started with a moodboard –drawing out a homepage and two typical subpages.

Website Redesign

The existing website was dressed up completely. Nascom’s added value in this consists mainly of:

  • wireframes;
  • designs;
  • architecture / development;
  • migration of the content of the current platform to the new platform –this was one of the biggest challenges;
  • HTML/CSS development;
  • Integration of the HTML/CSS templates in CMS;
  • Integration testing of the solution;
  • User Acceptance Testing coordination (by QA Nascom).

Technology

  • HTML / CSS
  • CMS Fatwire

Results / Services

The analysis and the website were delived within the time frame . Nascom was spoken highly of at the DataNews Awards. Roularta & Datanews realized that the project had been a difficult and challenging one.

A Fase II, namely some extra functionalities for the website, might be in sight.
